C-SECTION SCARS

C-section scar therapy is a hands on approach working on scar tissue, fibroids and adhesions within the body tailored to your scar and your recovery.

Scars can take around 2 years to fully mature. so starting to engage with your scar during the early stages can be extremely beneficial. At the same time its never to late to engage with your scar. (even 20 years later you can still benefit from massaging your scar!)

Treatments can help loosen and release the scar tissue surrounding and behind the scar, encouraging mobility between the muscle, layers of the skin and the fascia.

Over time scars often can be numb, painful  or very sensitive. Treatments can reduce pain and normalise sensitivity.

In most cases massage after delivery is usually advisable to assist with improving muscular aches and pains and helping to correct and align posture caused by pregnancy and the fascial pull. (diastasis recti can also checked)

Scar therapy can help if your scar is:

  • Raised (keloid/hypertrophic)

  • Rope like

  • Stringy/Grainy

  • Painful

  • Numb

  • Tight/Stuck

  • New

  • Old

MASSAGE
AFTER DELIVERY

We often suggest along side C-section scar therapy that a tailored massage post partum can be super beneficial. Treatments can take place at the same time as C-section scar therapy (6 weeks after delivery.)

As a result of pregnancy, having a C-section and having a baby, your body under goes a number a changes both physically and posturally, this often results in discomfort during the forth trimester.

Scars and surrounding scar tissue can often change the way we hold ourselves. naturally we adapt to protect and heal the incision, often causing stiffness and a reduced range of movement.

Having treatments along side C-section scar therapy can also help assist you and your recovery.

Treatments can help with

  • Postural changes

  • Achey shoulders from feeding

  • Repetitive strain issues within hands and arms

  • Rib flare

  • Lower back discomfort

  • Sciatica

  • Hip placement

  • Headaches

  • Oedema

  • Improves circulation

  • Encourages relaxation and stress reduction
    and much more.

Diastasis recti can also be checked during your appointment.
